Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drug Prevention Programming
NyECC spends a great deal of time focusing on researching the needs and resources in the
communities so that alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention and intervention can
be addressed in the most effective and efficient manner.  The coalition membership, the
APEC (assessment, planning, and evaluation committtee), the staff of the coalition and key
leaders and key informants all work together so that the most effective plan (CCPP-
Comprehensive Community Prevention Plan) is developed.  NyECC and partnering
organizations then seek out the resources to implement the plan.  Sometimes this is through
shared resources, or collaborative grants, or subgranting to competative applicants.  The
prevention programming implemented through the collaborative efforts of NyECC are the
result of those efforts.
