Children's Health Task Force
NyE Communities Coalition includes the health and fitness of our children as a high priority.
A Children’s Health Task force met over two years ago. The purpose was to explore ways
to improve the health and fitness of Nye and Esmeralda County youth.

Many programs were suggested and implemented by NCC in collaboration with several
organizations over the last school year. Among them where fitness challenges, nutrition
demonstrations, dental screenings and varnish applications.

Last spring, the task force including new participants, met to discuss future programs. The
group’s focus became a Back to School Health Fair on August 2, 2008. Their effort resulted
in a highly successful event serving over 200 children!
