Holiday Task Force
NyE Communities Coalition and community leaders met on September 28, 2007, to plan the
needs of the community for the 2007 holiday season.

All agreed that the purpose would not only encompass the holiday season, but it would also
be a year- round ongoing group committed to making sure that:

Every child is cared for
Every family is cared for
Duplication of services is avoided
The needs of those less fortunate are met
Every family is helped to celebrate holidays and other celebrations
Agencies are better referral sources
There is a "gatekeeper" for big projects
Specifically, the community is helped regarding perishable and non-perishable foods,
household goods and toys.

In addition to holiday collaboration, the Holiday Task Force presented a community picnic on
July 12, 2008. There was swimming, games, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, beverages,
chips and cookies. It was a huge success attended by over 200 people.

The group reconvened to plan the 2008 season. Future meetings are scheduled to be held at
new member’s church, Central Valley Baptist located at 3170 S Blagg Rd in Pahrump.
