Youth Organization (YO)
The youth component of NyECC is YO. Membership is open to youth
between 10 and 18 years old. YO builds youth leadership and promotes
involvement in healthy activities and raising community awareness
regarding dangers of drug, alcohol, and tobacco use and other healthy
communities projects. Call for meeting times and location.

Some of the activities of YO include:

Community Awareness – Promotion of anti-drug, alcohol, and tobacco environments and
activities.
Community Education – Information and instruction about healthy communities and how
to make positive changes in their towns.
Leadership Development – Participation in team building, project planning and
implementation, and public speaking.
Community Service – Opportunities to give back to the community and build the
infrastructure of partnering organizations.  
Fun! – Alcohol, tobacco, drug and violence free entertainment and recreational
opportunities for community members.

Weekly community service hours are available stocking shelves for Family Resource Center
(FRC) if you are interested please contact Joanna for dates and times available.

Recognition of YO includes:


                                      NyECC YO was the winner of the 2007 Cheers for Volunteers
                             Award in the youth category.




                                      NyECC YO was one of the 3 finalists for the Nevada Governors
                             Points of Light Award in 2007.
